Spox: Min readies 2 gas fields for sale, Gazprom, Rosneft to bid

MOSCOW, Mar 4 (PRIME) -- The Russian Natural Resources and Environment Ministry has sent a draft order to auction the Layavozhsky and the Vaneviyssky gas fields in the Nenets Autonomous District at a starting price of 8.047 billion rubles, a spokesman for the ministry told PRIME on Friday.

He said, “Natural Resources and Environment Minister Sergei Donskoi has sent the draft order to the government.”

Gazprom and Rosneft earlier bid for the licenses for these fields. Oil company Rosneft is interested in the deposits because it wants to include them into the Pechora LNG liquefied natural gas project.

The gas reserves of the Vaneviyssky field are expected at 85.183 billion cubic meters, of Layavozhsky at 137.915 billion cubic meters.

The spokesman said separately that the ministry is ready to give Rosneft licenses for the Shantarsky and the Magadan-4 fields in the Sea of Okhotsk without auction.

Rosneft can receive a total of six shelf licenses in 2016 without auction.
